The acquisition expands Equitas’ tax, accounting, and advisory capabilities, creating a more connected financial experience for businesses and their owners.
Creating a More Connected Financial Experience
Equitas Strategic Partners and McBride Accounting Officially Joined Forces on April 30, 2026
Equitas Strategic Partners has acquired McBride Accounting, a respected tax, accounting, and business advisory firm based in the Atlanta metropolitan area. This is a significant milestone for Equitas and an important expansion of the firm’s ability to support small and mid-size businesses with a more connected financial experience.
By bringing these teams together, Equitas is closing a common gap for business owners: bookkeeping, tax preparation, and strategic financial guidance too often happen separately. The combined firm brings day-to-day accounting, tax strategy, and forward-looking financial advisory services together under one roof.
We’re excited about what this next chapter means for clients, prospects, and the broader Equitas team. The FAQs below explain what is changing, what is staying the same, and how clients can access the expanded services now available through Equitas Strategic Partners.

General FAQs
Why did Equitas and McBride come together?
Equitas and McBride were founded with a shared mission: to help small and mid-size businesses gain access to the kind of financial expertise typically reserved for larger companies.
Over time, both firms recognized a common challenge many business owners face: financial services are often fragmented. Bookkeeping happens in one place, tax preparation in another, and strategic financial guidance may not exist at all. That disconnect can create inefficiency, missed opportunities, and reactive decision-making.
By bringing our firms together, we’re creating a more holistic financial partnership—one that connects day-to-day accounting, tax strategy, and forward-looking financial advisory services under one roof.
What does this mean for me as a client?
For most clients, your day-to-day experience will remain familiar—but you’ll now have access to expanded expertise, broader capabilities, and additional support as your business grows.
Together, Equitas and McBride now provide:
- Bookkeeping and accounting support
- Tax planning and preparation
- Controller services
- Fractional CFO and strategic advisory services
- KPI and financial reporting guidance
- Cash flow and growth planning support
Our goal is to simplify the financial side of your business so you can focus on running and growing your company.
Will my current services, pricing, or billing structure change?
Our focus during this transition is continuity, communication, and maintaining the high level of service you expect.
At this time, there will be no immediate changes to your existing services or billing structure. If any future operational updates occur, we will communicate them proactively and clearly.
Will my point of contact change?
In the immediate future, your day-to-day relationships and primary service contacts will largely remain the same. You’ll continue working with the trusted Equitas and McBride professionals who already understand your business and financial needs.
As part of bringing the two organizations together, Equitas clients will also get to know Richard McBride, who will help lead client services across the organization. Richard will be available as an additional point of contact to help answer questions, support communication, and ensure clients continue to have a smooth, responsive experience as we grow.
As we continue integrating teams and systems, we may introduce additional team members or account support where appropriate. Any updates to your client service experience will always be communicated proactively.
Will there be any technology or platform updates as part of this transition?
Yes. As part of our continued investment in improving the client experience, Equitas clients will transition to Canopy, a cloud-based accounting practice management platform.
Canopy will streamline communication, document sharing, workflow management, and client collaboration in a more secure and efficient environment.
We will send a separate communication dedicated specifically to the Canopy transition.
Are there any action items required from me right now?
No immediate action is required from clients at this time. If there are future updates related to systems, billing, or communication processes, we will provide clear instructions and timelines in advance.
